Module reference
Order, invoice, return and receipt — what each one does to the ledger.
An order reserves nothing in the ledger. An invoice recognises revenue and the receivable. A return reverses both against a credit document. A receipt settles the receivable against bank or cash.
Every one of those postings names the document that produced it, which is what makes drill-down from a report possible.
Receipts are allocated against specific invoices. An unallocated receipt sits on the customer account and shows in aging as an unapplied credit until you allocate it.
Create a workspace, import a chart of accounts and post a document. The ledger underneath is the same one that will carry you at ten times the size.
